Frequently Asked Questions

Dental Med Practice in Luxembourg

Do you have a question before booking an appointment? Here you will find answers to the questions we are most frequently asked. And if your question is not listed—call us directly: +352 261270.

As soon as you experience severe pain, your face swells, or a tooth breaks. These situations cannot wait several days.

Signs that require immediate attention:

Severe tooth pain that does not go away, even with pain relievers

Swelling of the cheek or gums — a possible sign of infection or an abscess

A tooth that has broken or become loose after an impact or accident

Heavy bleeding that won’t stop

Fever accompanied by tooth pain — this is always an emergency

If in doubt: call us. We’ll assess your situation with you in just a few minutes. 📞 +352 261270

It depends on the type of pain.

A slight sensitivity to hot or cold may indicate early-stage tooth decay or slightly receding gums. Severe, spontaneous pain that radiates towards the jaw or ear is more serious. A throbbing pain that doesn’t let up at night is often a sign of nerve damage or the start of an abscess.

In any case: don’t put it off. Persistent toothache won’t go away on its own. It often gets worse.

Call us so we can assess the situation: +352 261270.

Yes. The surgery is open until 9 pm. If you have a dental emergency late in the day or in the evening, please call us directly. We’ll do our best to see you on the same day or the next day, depending on the situation.

Yes. Dental Med welcomes both children and adults.

The first visit is a relaxed experience — we take the time to put them at ease before any treatment begins. We explain, we demonstrate, and we let the child get used to the surroundings.

There is no minimum age for a first appointment. Many dentists recommend a first visit around the age of 2–3, when all the baby teeth have come through. But if your child has never been before — whatever their age — now is the right time.

Yes. Scaling is one of the routine treatments performed at Dental Med.

The procedure is carried out in two steps: removal of tartar using ultrasound, followed by polishing of the tooth surfaces. The treatment generally lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the amount of tartar present.

One to two scaling treatments per year are sufficient in most cases. The dentist will determine the appropriate frequency for your situation during your checkup.

Yes. Dental Med offers teeth whitening using custom-made trays.

The trays are made from impressions of your teeth. The treatment is done at home over a period of two to three weeks using a gel provided by the clinic. The result: teeth that are two to four shades lighter, with a gradual and natural-looking outcome.

A preliminary assessment is required to ensure your teeth are ready for the treatment.

The office is open Monday through Friday until 9:00 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, we are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Hours may vary from week to week—calling 📞 +352 261270 is still the most reliable way to check our exact availability.
